Reading a post on this blog is always a welcome respite from the daily routine. Nina always makes us see the world with fresh eyes; to notice the small things; to appreciate nature's gifts. Sometimes, when I see the beautiful mountains and the glorious river close to where she lives, I sigh with envy, wishing I could walk surrounded by nature each day instead of being confined to the concrete streets and sidewalks of the suburbs.
After reading this post today, I thought about what Nina said about celebrating the light. Even though I can't walk along the river, I could walk in the fresh morning air. I might not be able to pick up heart shaped rocks from the river bank, but perhaps there might be a thing of joy to behold on my walk. Stuffing a camera in my pocket, I stepped out into the sunshine with expectancy.
Only a few steps from the door, this happy Mockingbird met me with his lusty morning songs.
The world was full of music this morning. Beautiful, tinkling bells added to the symphony. I finally discovered the sound was coming from here...
How could such a tiny windchime create such beautiful music?
The gentle wind blowing through the windchimes was also playing with the flowers. These little guys seemed to be dancing under the trees.
How could I not be happy when the whole world seemed to be singing and dancing?

And I even found hearts, right there on the sidewalk.

Perhaps best of all was this artwork by Barbara.
With the biggest heart of all just beside it.
I walked home with my own heart full...full of music...and dancing...and joy.
Thank you, my Friend.
